How Can Cloud Server Hosting Help Your Business?

As more and more businesses look to leverage the power of the Cloud you may wonder how it could help your business and your overall IT strategy. We specialise in helping businesses get the most from their IT and the Cloud can be a huge part of that. These are some of the most common uses of data centre by small and medium sized businesses…

Data-Centre-Hosting

Virtual Server Hosting

Our data centre provides a safe, secure and reliable place for businesses who want to move to the Cloud but have applications, software or systems that need to run on a server. With our virtual server hosting we can host and run virtually any application that would normally require an on-premise server in the Cloud, providing businesses with the same powerful functionality from their applications alongside the flexibility and scalability of the Cloud.

Offsite Backup Hosting

As part of a robust IT backup strategy we always recommend that three copies of data are held at all times. This include the live data, an on-site backup (for the quickest recovery) and an offsite backup (in the event of complete data loss via disaster or hacking). Our Offsite Backup hosting provides a UK based storage solution which backs your data up via the Cloud to our secure data centre which can be easily accessed and restored in the event of a disaster.

They did stand out, I remember when I was looking through as being somebody who were very approachable, practical and that came through when James came out to see us. So we definitely felt that we had made the right choice.

Want More Detail? Here’s It Is…

The HBP Group data centre is designed for business looking to transition to the Cloud and have requirement for either server or application hosting. The Tier 2 data centre is located in Scunthorpe and provides Virtual server and physical server hosting. We are able to offer a very flexible platform using either Microsoft Hyper V or VMware technologies and based on a tried and tested HP hardware platform.

How do you ensure resilience?

The HBP Group Data Centre works on a N+1 resilience model. N refers to the power and cooling capacity required to run the data centre in normal operation. Therefore, N+1 provides an additional power and cooling resource for failover and resilience.

Our data centre has dual path for power with UPS capabilities and a secondary generator with 48 hours worth of fuel meaning that uptime will be unlimited from a power point of view. A cooling system is essential for maintaining safe and stable operating conditions for data centre hardware. With dual cooling in place, a secondary system is in place should an issue occur with the primary cooling system.

This enables us to offer 99.741% availability as per the Tier 2 standard requirement, meaning there will never be more than 22 hours downtime per year.

What are your off-site backup options?

The HBP Group are also able to offer a full offsite cloud back solution in our data centre. The cloud backup offering offers a 2 week retention policy (as standard) on all data kept.

If you are looking to use our data centre for backup purposes then we offer two options – either host your own data device such as a NAS box, within our data centre, or utilise storage within our hosted servers.

What level of security can we expect?

Each device is connected to its own independent Virtual Local Area Network, meaning no connections between any customer devices and data are connected and are fully segregated. Our internal security solution and processes all adhere to the Cyber Essentials standards, which is a Government backed security accreditation, maintained on a two week basis ensuring all security policies are updated.

Regarding physical security to our building and data centre, the building is monitored via CCTV cameras which monitor all aspects of the perimeter. The building itself is protected by controlled door access cards which are restricted to specific areas of the building depending on staff requirements, and internal doors are then protected with biometric door controllers. All of these areas are monitored by internal CCTV Cameras and a 24/7 alarm contract.

The data centre itself again is monitored by CCTV cameras, located both internally and externally. This door is again restricted by biometric access and this is restricted to pre-approved relevant staff. No other member of staff is allowed into this area of the building.
